Bucket Heads!

Today the boys were running around the backyard in the rain; in their pajamas. They came up with a genius way to protect their heads...BUCKETS! Needless to say, it was quite humorous & entertaining!---You HAVE to watch the video clip!

Exhausted Eddie

The other night Eddie was SOOOO tired that he fell asleep at the table.
I guess he decided the table was not comfortable enough, so he moved to the floor.---He was OUT, the only thing that could revive him was a sip of my diet coke!

Just one of "THOSE DAYS"

Well, the other day was just.....one of "THOSE DAYS" for me! So much so that it turned humorous at a point; so I though that I would share this memorable day.---It started out as a peaceful morning, Rich had headed off to work, Harrison was at the kitchen table schooling & I was cleaning up breakfast (or maybe on the computer...wink, wink!); when all of the sudden and overwhelming smell of nail polish hit me like a brick wall. Upon investigation I stumbled upon Eddie who was exiting my bedroom (see picture below).
Yes, that is PINK nail polish on his lips...but, I wish I could tell you that his lips were the only thing he decided to paint...but NO, he decided to go ahead and paint our bathroom for us since we haven't decided on a color yet.
This is one way to force us to finally get a new toilet seat (we're not much into the clam shell look).

I had bearly wrapped my brain around this disaster, when a LOUD crash came from the kitchen. I rushed in to find that JJ had accindentally knocked one of the refridgerator door shelves off and the HUGE jar of APPLESAUCE, among other things, had come crashing to it's death......AHHHHHH! Oh, and he was trying to clean it up with my BRAND NEW dish towel.
The rest of the day consisted of trying to fold
MT. RUSHMORE.....we had been out a washing machine for about 5 weeks & needless to say VERY behind in the laundry department.
Despite these "type" of days, I wouldn't trade my job for ANY other job out there! These boys are GREAT and I love EACH one of their quarky personalities. I feel as though Rich & I have a chance to relive our childhood through them. I want to cherish every moment (even the CRAZY ones) and NEVER miss a memory because I was to busy; this can be difficult at times, but God often shows me how REALLY great we have it!---I hope this post gives someone out there a laugh or two. And for those of you who for some reason thought I had everything "UNDER CONTROL", well now you know the truth! :)

Tot-Time Basketball

Harrison (#23) and JJ (#12) had their first basketball practice last Saturday. They are playing 'Tot-Time Basketball' with the rec department.---Their team is the 'Hoyas', which when I googled what in the world a 'hoya' is; it is a flower/plant & also the name of a Georgetown Basketball team. According to Wikipedia the word in greek means:
'What?'. I found this humorous since the first thing I asked Rich when we found out their team name was; "what's a Hoya?".---Harrison bearly made the cut-off for being to old & JJ bearly made the cut-off for being to young. Making Harry the biggest and best & JJ the smallest and...most challenged.---We were SOOOO proud of them, Rich was grinning ear to ear and I was so touched by the moment, that I started to cry! Basketball was both of our favorite sports when we were younger, so watching them play TOGETHER and LOVING it was a HUGE BLESSING!

One of the funniest moments was when the teams were all supposed to do jumping jacks...well, I guess we forgot to teach our kids how to do them. They were the ONLY kids who had NO idea what to do. JJ caught on, but he looked more like a fairy or butterfly than a jumping jack.

video
JJ had NO clue that he was the slowest...he was just having a BLAST!

Their team is compiled of only a couple of kids who know what the point of basketball is, the rest of them are CLUELESS!---When practice was over we headed to Target & got them each their own ball to practice with. Eddie got a 'special' one since he isn't on the team.---They meet on Saturday mornings, the first 3 weeks are practices, followed by 6 weeks of games.

Here is a little dramatized video to prove their "Love of the Game"!

An Evening We Will NEVER Forget...

Last night we sat by the fire, listening to COLDPLAY with the boys; it turned out to be an AMAZING family experience! --- We brought blankets out, layed in the grass and watched the BRIGHT stars!

The boys ended up falling asleep......so Rich and I had an enjoyable few minutes of alone time.

I love these COOL, winter Florida nights!

EXTREME Backyard Makeover

On Monday, we installed sod in the backyard;
which had become a LITERAL 'dirthole' as i called it.

By the end of the night we were all COVERED
in BLACK DIRT. I must admit is was kinda fun, in a childlike way!

The WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING,
DREAM COME TRUE, NON-DIRTHOLE
(& a million other descpriptive words) finished product!
